Last Post

I got a couple of new hamsters; Nimmy and Quinna. However, I think this is going to have to be my last blog post; because nobody visits my pet blog. I await comments to determine if I should continue.

Two Prairie Dogs found new home

The prairie dogs Allie and Nicky found a new home a few days ago. I still have Booboo and Lakota.

Update on injured bunny

The little albino bunny who was injured is still in recovery. It looks like his left eye is healing. I named him "Zombunny" since he practically came back from the dead.

New Hamster

I probably shouldn't really get any more pets, but I got a new hamster today. Her name is Hamstra.

The bunny that was injured seems to be doing better, but his left eye is still sealed shut. Hopefully he'll be able to use it again.

Baby Bunnies found new home

Most of the baby bunnies have found a new home. The only one remaining was the albino runt male. Unfortunately, he was attacked by one of my ferrets (Jasper), who somehow got into the cage. It looked like he wasn't going to make it, but he is slowly recovering. I have given him goat's milk and Critical Care.

Finding Homes for Some Critters

I want to reduce my herd somewhat, so I've decided to try to find new homes for one of the baby goats, the prairie dog Nicky, and 5 of the 6 baby bunnies.

Baby Goats and Bunnies

Here are the baby goats at about 5 weeks old eating with their mother Periwinkle:

Here are some of the baby bunnies at 6 1/2 weeks old. They are ready to find new homes.

New Bunny

I got a new bunny last week, intending on getting a full Flemish giant doe. However, I think this is a buck and by the way one ear is flopped down I suspect he might be part lop much like Sophia is. Here he is:

I was going to take more pictures of the baby goats, but it seems that every time I remember, it's always night time and too dark for a good picture. I'll try to remember to take pictures when it's day time.

Sophia's 2nd litter at 1 month old

Here are Sophia's babies at 1 month old. I also want to show more baby goat pictures, but maybe next week.

In ferret news, Jasper turned 2 years old on August 1.

Sophia's 2nd litter at 3½ weeks old

Here are Sophia's 2nd litter at about 24 days old. They are totally cute, despite being inbred. I plan on keeping the orange one, which is a boy. I also plan on keeping a girl.

Periwinkle had babies!

The goat Periwinkle recently gave birth to 2 adorable kids. I had to fix the fence so that dogs don't come in and hurt the babies.

Sophia's babies are doing fine and looking really cute. They have their eyes open now. I put one next to one of the goat kids because I thought it would be cute:

Sophia's babies at 1 week

Sophia had a total of 7 babies/grandbabies (her son is the father, whoops!); and they are 10 days old now. They are beginning to open their eyes. There are 4 brown ones, 2 white ones, and an orange one which I intend on keeping. Despite being inbred, they are really cute. Here they are at 1 week:

Sophia had babies again

My rabbit Sophia had babies again on Saturday (7/5) and this time with a different male: her son Chogan (whoops). Hopefully I'll be able to find homes for them. I plan on keeping one or two.

The goats Elmaria and Tianna have been producing roughly 20 ounces of milk each session; which is twice a day. I've been making hot cocoa with their milk and it's yummy! I also plan on making cheese.

New goats

I managed to trade in Kambali for two goats. Actually, I traded her for one and purchased the second since they're inseparable. I've been milking them twice a day. They managed to escape, along with Periwinkle, by breaking the siding under the house. The neighbors caught them and they spent some time with the neighbor's goats. Now they're back here, and I blocked their escape route. The names of the new goats are Elmaria and Tianna; formerly Maria and Anna.

The prairie dogs may be expecting; May re-home angora goat

Both of my prairie dog pairs may be expecting a litter. A couple weeks ago; Booboo and Lakota looked like they were trying to mate. Just last week; it looked like Nicky and Allie were succeeding. If they have babies; Booboo and Lakota's litter is due July 10, and Nicky and Allie's is due July 24.

Also, I was thinking of re-homing my angora goat Kambali. She has been quite a bully to Periwinkle. I want to trade Kambali for a tame dairy goat who can be a better friend for Periwinkle.

Sophia *might* be pregnant; and Periwinkle is

My remaining female rabbit Sophia may be pregnant; as she spent some time with her son by accident. If she has babies; they'll be her grandbabies too.

My dwarf dairy goat Periwinkle has been pregnant since I got her. She is really showing it now. It's possible she may be giving birth sometime next month.

New Chinchilla

A few days ago, I got a new chinchilla; this one's a female. Her name is Daisy, but that name is subject to change. I was going to breed her with Xeldon, but she is a runt so probably shouldn't breed.

Wildlife

I was thinking perhaps I should talk about wildlife as well as pets here.

Hopefully the opossum I released last week is doing okay; it might have ended up as predator food, however. I hope to receive more wildlife on the property; perhaps a local wildlife center can release some here.

Earlier today I was able to get some pictures of this painted bunting in my front yard:

Opossum Released; Must Fix Goat Fence

The opossum that I received a month ago was finally released into the wooded property behind my house. If all goes well, the critter will be happily finding food and shelter and not being eaten by a predator too soon.

Kambali, the angora goat, has made it a habit to climb over and out of the fence. I keep having to herd her back in each time. So I'll have to figure out a way to fix the fence.

Nothing eventful

Nothing much has been going on with the critters. I've been too lazy to take pictures too. Maybe next week there will be something going on.

Might Adopt a Puppy

Sadie, the Great Pyrenees mix who has been visiting me almost every day, has puppies at the place she lives. I found this out when calling the number on her tag. It's possible I might be adopting one. Their father is a German shepherd.

Bored Goats and Bunny Family

Lately my goats Kambali and Periwinkle have been bleating constantly (baa-ing) as if they don't already have enough feed and as if they are not in a yard full of grass. Periwinkle stops when I let her inside. It's possible she likes my company more than Kambali's. Kambali has been jumping over the fence to get some branches, so I picked branches for her and tried to secure the fence.

Since I have 3 bunnies left, and they're a family consisting of a mom, dad, and son, I thought I'd do a photo shoot of them. The dad is the small dark one on the right, the mom is the big white one on the left, and their son is in the middle. Notice the gradient in fur color, ear length, and overall body size.

Yuki passed :(

Yuki the rabbit sadly passed away a few days ago from an illness that happens too often with my rabbits. I could never figure it out since I clean the cages regularly and give them the correct diets. So my three remaining rabbits Rex, Sophia, and Chogan, will likely be my last rabbits.

New Goat, Baby Opossum, and Stray Dog Update

Due to the goats Trisa and Princess not being tame enough for my needs for them to be pets, I've decided to trade both of them for a tame dwarf dairy goat. Her name is Periwinkle.

A friend's brother sent me this opossum just moments after I did the goat trade. There were two of them, but one got away and I'm yet to find it. I've been giving it dog food, since it's likely weaned from it's mother. I'll release it once it's big enough to not be vulnerable to cats.

The smaller stray dog who I called Rascal tried to follow me to work, and then he got lost for a couple days, and now just this morning I saw him. I do not wish to keep him, due to the abundance of pets I already have. As for big female I called Roxie, her name is actually Sadie. Her name tag was embedded on the collar. Here is the latest picture of Sadie:

Down to 4 Rabbits... and And Another Stray Dog

I now have a total of 4 rabbits, because all the babies have found homes except for one who I'm keeping. My current rabbits are now Rex, Chogan, Sophia, and Yuki. Chogan is the son of Rex and Sophia, and the nephew of Yuki.

In other news, stray dogs are common around here, and a little male dog showed up. I named him Rascal. The other dog from last week still shows up, and in fact, she's here in my house as I type. I named her Roxie. Here is Rascal:

Stray Dog

A stray dog approached my house, and I let her in. She appears to be a St. Bernard / Great Pyrenees mix. She has a collar, but no ID. I've decided to keep her here until I find out who she belongs to.

I still have 2 rabbits that I'm trying to find homes for. They are Sophia's offspring. Here they are:

Yuki's litter has found new homes. Here is the last picture of them at 7 weeks:

Also, I named the bunny I'm keeping from Sophia's litter: Chogan. I still have his brother and sister, and have yet to find homes for them. Here's Chogan:

Neighbor's Dogs, and Bunny Update

Ever since I moved to my new place, I have learned to become acquainted with the neighbors' dogs. One was a Pomeranian named Bandit who was really cute and friendly. Sadly, I found him dead on the road last Sunday morning. It was really hard to inform my neighbor.

Here are Sophia's 3 remaining babies at 11 weeks:

Here are Yuki's babies at 5 weeks:
